These Japanese Black Pine Seedlings were started in the spring of 2023 and are ready to be wired for movement or grown on to thicken the trunks for forests or larger bonsai. These Pines are in our bonsai soil mix (equal parts red lava, black lava, hyuga pumice, and akadama). At the time of these photos these pines were between ten and eighteen inches tall from the base of the soil. These have lower buds for future branching for shorter trees in the future.
